by Jim Carrico last modified 2008-08-14 10:53

The IDEC Newsroom is a collaborative experiment in (almost) real-time video coverage of the IDEC 2008 Conference. See instructions at the bottom of this page for info about how to upload videos to the "IDEC2008 Channel".

IDEC2008 - covering a complicated event

Initial meeting of the IDEC News Team. Shot and edited by Bill Mullan, Aug 12 2008.

Instructions for uploading videos to the IDEC Newsroom:

Videos are hosted on Youtube and then embedded onto this page using a simple interface. The upload process takes place in two steps:

1. log in to Youtube with the username "idec2008" - the password is the same as that used by the IDEC2008 wireless internet account. Please use the following tags to help the outside world find your video: "idec democratic education conference vancouver 2008" (feel free to add to this list as necessary for your video.) Now copy the "embed" code from the Youtube page for your video.

2. Return to this page on the IDEC2008 site, and create a new Youtube link using the "add youtube_link" button on the green toolbar near the top right corner of the page. Give your video a title and (optional) description, and paste the "embed code" from step one into the box provided. Save and that's it! Please don't upload any copyrighted material (ie. someone else's stuff) to the IDEC2008 Newsroom channel! Thanks! (Please contact jim at at dot org if you have any questions or comments.)

Donate to IDEC 2008
